POSTPONED: The CAT Club presents a long playing vinyl record: ‘LIVE AT LEEDS’ by THE WHO

October 25 @ 7:30 pm - 10:00 pm

£10

UNFORTUNATELY THIS EVENT HAS BEEN POSTPONED DUE TO OUR VERY SPECIAL GUEST, JON ASTLEY HAVING BEING INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT. The event will still place in the near future once Jon’s doctor gives him the okay. We will wish him all the best and hope to see him soon.

The legendary live album recorded (less than 20 miles from The CAT Club) at the University Refectory at Leeds on 14 February 1970 is presented in it’s all glory on the original vinyl pressing.

Critic Nick Cohn described the album as “the definitive hard-rock holocaust,” and that just about sums the collective of Pete Townsend, Roger Daltry, John Entwistle and Keith Moon.

Our very special guest presenter is JON ASTLEY who remastered the tapes and produced the de-luxe edition and has worked with The Who for many years supervising mastering all their back catalogue. Jon has worked with some of the biggest names in the wonderful world of music including; The Rolling Stones, Charlie Watts, Abba, George Harrison, Tori Amos, Eric Clapton, Jools Holland, Tom Jones, Judas Priest, Emmylou Harris, Damien Dempsey, Tears for Fears, Led Zeppelin, Hothouse Flowers, Level 42, The Boomtown Rats, John Mayall, Toto, Norah Jones, Stereophonics, KT Tunstall, Van Morrison, Paul McCartney, Peter Gabriel, Slade and Sting,

Hopefully Jon will also be telling us about producing WHO ARE YOU which was the force of nature that was Keith Moon’s final album before he passed away.

Our good friend, Heath Common, will be interviewing Jon. Looks like a good night ahead.
