THE SEX PISTOLS  event scheduled for 12th September has been cancelled due to our guest presenter, Clinton Heylin going to work in Tulsa during September. We wish Clinton a mighty fine time indeed. We’re gonna be sorting out a new event asap.

THURSDAY 8TH AUGUST – TICKETS £10. Only a few left.
The band’s eponymous debut album.Probably the first album to successfully merge the seemingly disparate sounds of rap and heavy metal, Rage Against the Machine’s self-titled debut was groundbreaking enough when released in 1992, but many would argue that it has yet to be surpassed in terms of influence and sheer brilliance — though countless bands have certainly tried.
Presented by JON MORTER
Jon is best known for his gatecrashing of the music industry with his phenomenal ‘Rage Against The X Factor’ campaign, sweeping Rap/Metal band Rage Against The Machine into the sought after UK Christmas No.1 spot, and £160,000 raised for charity. A Guinness record for downloads was broken plus Facebook gave him his own personal member of staff to assist with the 1.6 million group members he had amassed in just 4 weeks. This success opened the door for Jon to work on campaigns for some big artists in the industry including Nirvana, Sex Pistols, Rod Stewart, David Essex, a No.1 album for The Rolling Stones, Rik Mayall’s 2010 World Cup single (which incidentally Jon campaigned for again after Rik’s death making the UK No.7 in 2014), Eagles of Death Metal, Wham’s return to No.2 in 2017, and the 2012 Christmas No.1 campaign for The Justice Collective.

THURSDAY 22ND JULY. TICKETS £10. Only a few left.
Supertramp saxophonist, John Helliwell will be with us to present the band’s magnum opus from 1977, Breakfast In America(28 million copies sold to date).
In 1966 John joined The Alan Bown Set who recorded several acclaimed albums and the northern soul anthem ‘Emergency 999.’
He joined Supertramp in 1973 whose efforts were later recognised by the French government when John and fellow band members Rick Davies and Bob Siebenberg were awarded the “Chevalier de l’ordre des Arts et Lettres” medal in 1997. This medal is one of the country’s most distinguished cultural awards and is a measure of just how highly the French regard Supertramp (as an example, Bowie wasn’t awarded his until late ’99!)
John’s also recorded with Pink Floyd and has backed soul legends Arthur Conley and Jimmy Ruffin.
He now fronts the Super Big Tramp Band, which has a jazz big band line-up of trumpets, trombones, saxophones and rhythm section. The band plays instrumental versions of Supertramp tunes with John as the chief soloist.
